NEW! Power Blade Development Program
Wednesdays 5:00-5:50pm (Picton Arena)
We are excited to welcome skaters to PECSC's new Hockey Skating Skills program to improve your Game!Power Blade DP focuses on developing fundamental skating skills. Through dynamic, drill-based sessions, skaters will improve their edge control, turning, stopping, stride technique, and overall skating ability while developing the ABCs of skating: Agility, Balance, and Control. Each session includes a combination of hockey-based drills and technical skating instruction to help skaters build a strong foundation and improve performance on the ice.
This program is not a learn-to-skate program; skaters should have skills equivalent to at least CanSkate Stage 3 and be comfortable falling down and getting up independently, skating forward confidently and skating backward to some degree. Skaters will be assessed during the first week to ensure the program is a good fit. Please note: full hockey equipment is required for PowerSkating.
All sessions are led by professional coaches certified through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP).
Financial Assistance is available through Canadian Tire's Jumpstart Child Grant and The Children Foundation's Playing for Keeps program.
