STARSkate 1-2

STARSkate stands for Skills, Tests, Achievement and Recognition.

After CanSkate or Rising Star, your skater may pursue figure skating through our StarSkate program. NCCP-trained professional coaches teach this program in private, semi-private, and group lesson formats.
Skaters of all ages, who have passed all Stage 6 assessment criteria, are invited to continue their journey with Skate Canada through our Star 1-5 and Star 6-Gold programming.

STARSkate program offers opportunities for skaters to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the 5 areas of figure skating: dance, skills, free skate, artistic and synchro in a Team Coaching environment.  Skaters have the opportunity to participate in standardized Skate Canada Assessments and also have the opportunity to enter recreational and competitive competitions.

Skaters receive coach-led advanced skating skills lessons in different format: private, semi-private and group lesson from one of the Team Coach to further develop "Muscle Memory" and Master Edges, Stroking, Turns and Backward Skating.  Lessons fees will be invoiced by coaches monthly.

The StarSkate program involves more complex skills, and for safety reasons, we ask that skaters avoid pants with long and loose bottoms (i.e. bell bottoms) and hair be neatly pulled back and secured. Helmets are not required; however, concussion bands are encouraged for STAR 1-2.
